A week later

Rate this Entry
A week has gone by since I've gotten the new software package installed. The colorization of the template is very time consuming as I have to go through the limited documentation and figure out where everything is located. Good news thought, vbulletin.com is starting to release some more detailed documentation on styles. This will make my job of formatting and creating the style so much easier!

Rebecca (Aphigirl01) helped with this project. She gets credit for the great photograph and the site logo. It really sets the tone for the entire site. Thanks Rebecca!

Some great things about this format and I'm glad about them too! The number one thing - We're able to keep the Google Trail Review Map from the earlier site format. This was very important to me and I'm glad that this frontend supports embedded code. We still need to update the links on the map to the reviews, but we'll get it done.

Creating and getting content for the site is the next thing. The more content I can generate, the higher the site will show on search engine results.

I will be inserting advertising space in time. I don't anticipate a 'drowning' of ads on the site, but enough to offset the cost and investment in the site. Always done in taste and consistent with the theme and feel of trailrunningworld.com, the ads should bring value to our members.

In time, this site should grow and mature. It will take a while, but by investing time, effort and a commitment for excellence, I'm confident in the final result.
