I'm relatively new to trail running. I enjoy it but don't get out there as often as I'd really like. I also don't know all that many trails around here and have some hesitation due to the risk of injury.
What are some things you look for when selecting a trail to run? I mean, compared to hiking, do you have different criteria for trails to run?
Do you have a resource that you use when selecting local trails, or is it mainly trial and error or word of mouth?
